FAB5 AWARDS CEREMONY
The Fab5 Young Professional Celebration highlights the achievements and impact of young professionals, under 40, who are excelling and making an impact in Tompkins County. The Fab5 Awards are given out to 5 local, young professionals who are growing and excelling in their respective fields and in the community.
MONKS GIVES BACK/GIAC TOY DRIVE
Ring in the holiday season at the next MONKS GIVES BACK With Tompkins Connect! For the entire night, 50% of food and drink proceeds will be donated to support Tompkins Connect! We'll also be collecting toys in support of the GIAC Toy Drive.
So bring a toy to donate and grab a drink and a bite to support two causes at once!
WHEN: Tuesday, December 17th, 5PM-7PM
WHERE: Monks on the Commons
We're collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC). Please help us reach our goal of donating 35 toys this year and spread some holiday cheer to the children of our community!
Toys can be dropped off at Monks now through the end of the event on Tuesday.
What kinds of toys do kids want these days? No clue... that's why the children of GIAC gave us a list! Check out the link below for suggested gift items.
This event is FREE and festive apparel is encouraged!
Happy Hour Hike
Our annual Happy Hour Hike is BACK!
This time at the BRAND NEW Finger Lakes Land Trust, Simms-Jennings Preserve at Cayuga Cliffs. Post-hike libations will be enjoyed at Salt Point Brewing!
WHEN: Thursday, October 10th at 5:30pm
WHAT: A guided hike through Cayuga Cliffs. The hike will be less than an hour. Following the hike, we will meet at Salt Point Brewing for some drinks, food, and conversation [between 6:30 and 7pm]!
WHERE: Simms-Jennings Preserve at Cayuga Cliffs

DIRECTIONS: From Ithaca, take East Shore Drive for 6 miles to turn left on NY-34B N/Ridge Road (at the intersection at Rogue’s Harbor). After 4 miles, the preserve will be on the left.

EVENT DETAILS:
- Date: Tuesday, August 27th, 2024
- Time: Arrive at 6:30pm, the cruise will run from 7-9pm
- Place: Allan H. Treman Marina, behind the dog park at Cass Park
- $20 per person
- Music and vibes curated by Spirit Posse!
WHAT TO BRING:
- Weather on the lake can be cooler than expected and variable. We recommend wearing layers and comfortable footwear (non-skid and non-marking please).
- Casual dress code.
- In the event of chilly or damp weather, Discover Cayuga Lake can enclose the main deck and will make every effort to keep everybody comfortable.
- BYOB and snacks. Water will also be provided.

Join us for a casual meetup to expand your network, make new friends, and support a local business! This event is FREE and open to all young professionals living or working in Tompkins County. If you'd like to give shuffleboard a try, the courts will be reserved for our group from 6-7pm – bring a friend or team up at the event!
Personal Best does allow you to bring food to the brewery. In warm weather, dogs are also welcome.
